Holiday Shopping Dangerous

This is crazy. So recently we all celebrated thanskgiving with our family and some of us were also getting ready for all the sales that they were going to have early early the next morning. People began lining up at the stores just to be the first to get the items that were knocked off a couple of prices. But at one store got a little out of hand which had to be Walmart. When the doors opened at walmart, people rushed through the door and actually knocked someone over. That person was being walked all over and and she died. When i heard this i thought to myself, have people really gone nuts. Is shopping getting the good deals better than someones life.? What i dont realize is why didnt anyone help pick her up. Then i realized that people are so selfish now a days. it looks like our society watches out for themselves not for each other. I believe that it wasnt necessary for that to happen. If the store was controlled better, instead of having the people knocked down the doors themselves, maybe that peorson would still be alive today. Shopping has gone out of control.

A Different Thanksgivng

Thanksgiving is near and it is the time that my whole family come together and spend time with one another. it has been like that since before i was born. Every year, we would all go to my grandmothers house and basically eat, and laugh with one another. I always looked forward to going there every year. But this year is going to be different and when i mean diferent, our Thanksgiving has totally changed due to the passing of my grandmother this passed April. With the passing of my grandmother, it meant that her house was up for sell.
With Thanksgiving around the corner it meant that my family had to choose a different house to celebrate at. My house was choosen. as my mom called the family to let them know the plans, one of my family members decided that they were not going to show up because it wasnt going to be the same. Now i know that the passing of my grandmother hurt that person bad, but it hurt everyone else as well. We all have to make the changed and i believe that we should make the changed together. Being around family members especially with this situation is the best way, i believe, to move on in life when something like this happens. I miss my grandmother so so very much and i do not think that she would want her family not to come together on this holiday just because she is not with us anymore. To me, I fell like that its just plan selfiness of that person who doesnt want to come. What im hoping is that this person will stop and realize what mistake that will be made if the desicion is not to come.

So today i was browsing around the internet and I ran into a ridiculous story about president Barack Obamas wife, Michelle Obama. Basically the article was about what Mrs. Obama wore on the night of the election when Mr. Obama was giving his acceptance speech. The article which was from msn, was critizing what she choose to wear. The article said what she wore was a BOLD choice and that it was not right to wear for that occasion. When i read this, the question that popped into my mind is, why do people care what someone else wears?
I believe that people in this society have nothing else better to do then to critize other people. The night was suppose to be about Obama and the change that was happening for America. Focusing on what they wore especiially what Michelle wore has nothing to do with what that night meant. People always have to find something wrong with other people to make them feel better. This in not the first time that has happened either. It also happened when Sarah Palins daughter was exposed for being pregnant so young.
Michelles dress sand Sarah palins daughter were both critized and it was not necessary because it had nopthing to do with the politics. People need to stop critizing others because they are not living thier lives. I just think it sucks because if you were in their place being critized and the whole world reading about it, how would you feel? I dont know, i just think that we need to stop focusing on unecessary things and start focusing on things that matter like um, the economy!

A Change Has Finally Come!

Last night, as so many were, my mom and I were watching the 2008 presidential election. We were so eager to find out if Obama was going to be our first African American president. As soon as we found out that Obama had won the states of Pennsylvania and Ohio, my mom and I knew he was was going to be our president!
Obama being our president is a big change for our Americans. but another change that i noticed was that the House of represenataives also went for a big change. Before last night it was all republicans that had the seats but after last night election, democrats had the majority. That tells everybody a lot. Americans are tired of the same thing in the white house and the House of representatives. The same people, the rebulicans, have been in the white house for so long and from my point of view, it feels like Ameriacans were put in these conditions we are now in because of them. With Obama in as president, I feel like something is going to be done . I know that Obama will not neglect people, such as our current president has done, and will do everything in his power to fix America because America right now is in a bad position. With this change, i feel like people have realized and step up to have their voice heard. They were heard because Obama swept Mccain.
This is just my view of the election, what do you think?

Free Will

Today in class we discussed free will. The question that was brought up in class was do we actually have free will? This question came up because of the notion that God controls everything. God is said to know what is going to happen in our lives, what decisions that we will make, and what routes we would take. To some it up, God is all so powerful.
To answer this question. I still believ that we have free will although in class i heard a lot of reasons why we do not. God gives us many options in our life and he knows what will happen in all of the routes. I do not believe that he knows what route we will take. I think that God left that up to us. That is why some people choose the wrong path, getting theirselves into trouble. I think God gives us that free will in our life. That is what I think, what do you think?

The self

Today in class we discussed about the self identity. We focused more on the philosophers and how they defined and argued about ones identity. One philosopher that stood out to me was Descartes, I guess this was because this is the philosopher who i read about the most. Descartes said that our mind was ones identity. The body had nothing to do with how someone descibes one self.
Well i started to think that Descartes is sort of right in a way. I say this because does our body, our apperance really describe a person.? I dont think so. It is all about what is inside, how a person thinks, feels about certain things. So basically Descartes is right in that way. Our conscious descibes who we really are.
Well then the argument was made in class about the body. well in my opinion we dont know that our body is really here. We can be imagining it. We can doubt literally everything so thats why i started doubting if our body is really here. People could be just imagining differents ways a body is supposed to look like. Well that is just what i think. What do you think?

(New thought)Road Rage.......

Today I experianced something that mostly everybody goes through while driving. Road rage! I was on my way to school when the incident happened. I was driving in my own lane when all of a sudden a car switch into my lane without even lookin at where I was. That wasn't even that bad part though, when the car switch lanes all of a sudden he put on his breaks! I almost ran into the back of him. This is when the rage kick in.
I honk my horn about a thousand times, I rolled my window down and started yelling at the car, and i used a certain hand gesture that wasn't to nice. When all of his was happening, I wasnt't thinking at all. I could not control my actions because I was just so mad. When I lost sight of the car that caused all of my anger, I calmed down and realized that I have bad case of road rage.
Although I did not get in an accident at that point, I could of caused an accident because of all my anger I had. Road rage is part of a persons action and it is something that is not thought of because we are so angry. I hope this never happens again but this is something that we can not control because of the freedom of choice that we have in the country. If someone is wants to drive recklessly then they will. Im just hoping that i dont end up near one of those people because next time i probaly wont be so lucky.
